WSLS: Veteran issues a focus for coming General Assembly session
ROANOKE, VA — They’ve fought on the battlefields of Iraq and now veteran groups and supporters are fighting for them in Richmond.
Since the Iraq War is over thousands of veterans are coming home to face a struggling economy and a dismal job outlook.
Support groups and legislators say making sure there’s money for veteran’s resources during tight budget times is vital.
“One of the things we’ve sort of done in a bi-partisan manner is we’ve made this a priority,” said Delegate Kirk Cox, (R–66th District).
