FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 30, 2018
Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Kirk Cox issued the following statement Saturday after the resignation of Republican Party of Virginia Chairman John Whitbeck.
“Chairman Whitbeck ably led the state party for the last three years through two difficult election cycles. As Chairman, John mobilized grassroots support to fight millions of dollars in out-of-state spending against Republicans across the Commonwealth, rebuilt RPV’s digital and messaging operation, and bridged the divides of our governing committee.
“John was a strong supporter of the House Republican Caucus throughout his time as Chairman, and we thank him for his support and service.
“I respect the difficult decision John had to make here, and look forward to working with him in other roles in the future. I know he will continue to be active in our party for many years to come.”
